The ManSafe Transfastener, key to the ManSafe system, provides continuous protection and freedom of movement along the entire length of the life-line…without unhooking. Once the unit’s cable guide is slid into the system’s entry/exit terminal, the transfastener is securely installed and can be detached from the cable only at a designated entry/exit terminal.
A Safer Idea
Fall-arrest products help protect those who must work in high or hazardous locations. These products generally include a harness worn by the worker, which is connected by a lanyard to a life-line secured to the building structure at two or more points along its length.
Typically, however, the life-lines to which workers are attached severely limit mobility. The reason: it is impossible to move past an intermediate attachment point without unhooking and re-attaching beyond the securing hardware. The worker must stop working and is left unprotected during the disconnect process.
